EXTRAORDINARY ADVENTURES FOR CHILDREN

Hi

An abiding passion of mine is to give as many British children as possible the chance to live with and learn from the rural people of Africa. Nearly all my adult life was spent in Rhodesia and then Zimbabwe where I came respect skills and life styles of rural African people - black and white - who are so resourceful in making the most of their environment.

Imagine the thrill for a British child given the opportunity to follow African trackers in the bush; to identify animals and birds and the African flora and their place in Nature; to make fire; craft bows and arrows and slingshots; study stars; learn bush signs; throw a spear; study medicinal plants; survival skills and finding water.  This and a huge lot more besides is possible with one of our childrens' holidays spent living with the Samburu people of Kenya's rugged north east region.

I've got some really significant family and group discounts for the main holiday season next year from 1 July to 31 October: Instead of USD2188 each for a couple for a week, four parents would only pay USD1824 and the low, low price of USD720 for each child sharing with parents.  Extend the group to six parents and the adult price comes down even more to USD1657.

If that time of year doesn't suit contact me for prices at other times.

Interested in my artwork and cards ? For a wedding present I painted a hippo exploding from still waters of Lake Kariba and shedding water hyacinth as he shows his singular molars to a couple of interlopers.  It's called "Voertsek!" for obvious reasons.  For Christmas I've just finished a painting of Kennerleigh church in the snow.  I rely on Joan's artistic sense to effect corrections.

Edward King's five marathon run across the Sahara in April - with more than 700 other mad men and women from 42 countries - will be the subject of an illustrated talk in Kennerleigh Village Hall on Friday, 11 December.
